The role has three primary responsibilities: executive leadership of the clinical function; development of the multidisciplinary clinical model; and leadership of clinical quality management and governance.
The CCO establishes the clinical standards and expectations that guide evidence-based, ethical, safe, and medically necessary care across Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Diagnostics, Behavioral Health, and future service offerings. The CCO partners with the Chief Clinical Operations Officer (CCOO), who leads operational implementation and day-to-day service delivery.
This leader brings clinical credibility, executive judgment, and business acumen to enterprise strategy and serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executive Officer Team, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders. Clinical leadership and quality oversight are distinct responsibilities, with clear accountability for each.

Development of the Multidisciplinary Clinical Model
- Set the long-term clinical strategy and contribute to enterprise growth, transformation, financial sustainability, and organizational performance while maintaining patient safety and clinical integrity.
- Lead and develop the clinical strategy, professional practice, and care model leaders assigned to the CCO through the approved organizational structure. Provide enterprise clinical direction across disciplines in partnership with Clinical Operations.
- Define clinical competencies, supervision standards, clinical leadership capabilities, and professional practice expectations. Oversee clinical curricula, education pathways, and evidence-based training content.
- Partner with Human Resources and Clinical Operations on clinical onboarding, coaching, professional development, and succession readiness. Contribute clinical expertise to workforce strategy; operational staffing and labor deployment remain with Operations, in partnership with HR.
- Build a culture of ethical practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, learning, and accountability. Communicate clinical changes and equip leaders to support adoption.
- Manage the relationship with the Clinical Advisory Board and use its expertise to inform clinical strategy, standards, care model development, and evidence review.
- Represent Hopebridge with payers, providers, regulators, accrediting bodies, professional organizations, academic institutions, and healthcare partners.
Development of the Multidisciplinary Clinical Model
- Design and continuously improve an integrated care model supporting whole-child and whole-family care across clinical disciplines and locations.
- Define evidence-based care pathways, treatment planning, interdisciplinary coordination, transition and discharge standards, and expected patient outcomes.
- Establish clinical requirements for medical necessity, individualized care, documentation, and defensible treatment decisions aligned with payer expectations and applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
- Approve the clinical design of new programs, treatment models, curricula, and clinical solutions. Establish safety, evidence, training, adoption, and fidelity requirements before operational launch.
- Partner with the CCOO to assess feasibility, center readiness, staffing implications, and implementation sequencing. Monitor adoption and fidelity and address clinical barriers with the operational owners.
- Embed innovation within evidence-based care model development. Evaluate emerging science and establish a multi-year research, outcomes, and clinical solution roadmap with appropriate clinical and quality review.
- Develop academic and healthcare partnerships and share credible outcomes and practice insights through publications, conference presentations, and other professional forums.
- Establish the clinical quality strategy and outcomes framework, including patient safety, care effectiveness, family experience, documentation quality, fidelity, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the Clinical Governance Council as the forum for clinical standards, care model decisions, and professional practice. Establish clear charters, decision rights, escalation pathways, and alignment with the approved enterprise Quality and Compliance structure.
- Oversee development, approval, maintenance, and review of clinical policies, protocols, practice guidelines, competency requirements, and program approval criteria.
- Provide clinical leadership to quality assessment and performance improvement through the approved management committee structure. Partner with Quality and Compliance on committee design, quality reporting, and escalation to the designated Board committee.
- Define clinical audit, peer review, fidelity, and inspection expectations; interpret findings and set clinical improvement priorities. Quality and Compliance retain responsibility for audit administration and regulatory processes within their assigned functions.
- Periodically review operational indicators with implications for clinical quality and service integrity, including claims errors, prior authorization denials, and documentation patterns. Identify systemic clinical risks and ensure responsible functions address them.
- Establish clinical remediation requirements, review the adequacy of clinical responses, and monitor recurring findings and effectiveness. Quality, Compliance, and Operations own their assigned corrective action workflows and operational closure.
- Provide executive and Board reporting on clinical outcomes, safety, quality trends, material risks, and improvement progress. Quality oversight evaluates patterns and response effectiveness without assuming day-to-day operational management.
