Medical Billing Specialist

Description

You are detailed-orientated, organized, and passionate about helping children and their families touched by Autism. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be an integral part of our Medical Billing team by directly impacting the entire organization and ensuring claims are processed timely and accurately across multiple states.

Role Overview

  • Strong understanding of health insurance medical policy and billing requirements, including government and managed care programs as well as Medicaid and commercial carriers
  • Analyze medical claim rejections for resolution and payment
  • Audit medical documentation and charges to resolve errors and generate clean claims
  • Possess experience utilizing insurance portals to resolve rejected claims for payment
  • Identify trends with rejected claims (providers/locations/carriers) and report to management
  • Experience with understanding insurance remittances

Profile of an Ideal Candidate

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • At least one year of experience in an insurance, healthcare, or medical office setting
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as desktops, laptops, and 10-key calculator
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a multi-task environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be comfortable with daily commute to Home Office on the Northwest side of Indianapolis
