You have experience accessing health insurance portals,
researching insurance claims, and tracking activity As an Insurance Denial Specialist, you will investigate insurance denials of behavioral health and medical services provided. You will be an integral part of our Revenue Cycle team, directly impacting the entire organization by ensuring claims are disputed, appealed, and refiled accurately and timely.
 

What You'll Do 

  • Researching and resolving denied, unpaid, and underpaid insurance claims  
  • File appeals as needed to resolve denials, collaborate with payers and monitor appeals in the process  
  • Properly track and document all denial and appeal activity  
  • Check insurance payments for accuracy  
  • Conduct outbound calls to insurance to gather information for claims  
  • Access payer portals online to resolve denials  
  • Send medical records to insurance companies   
  • Maintain all logs, account notes, and system records as assigned  
  • Help identify issues from denials and appeals that might be avoided on future claims  
  • Maintain working knowledge of all payer guidelines and requirements as they relate to denials and appeals  

What You’ll Need 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • At least 2 years of experience in insurance denials required 
  • Knowledge of insurance guidelines, specifically commercials and Medicaid, across states preferred  
  • Ability to multitask effectively and respond to changing deadlines and priorities  
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a desktop, laptop, 10-key, and phone  
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel

Your Pay and Benefits 

  • Starting rate of $19.00 per hour (based on experience) 
  • Monday through Friday schedule 
  • 19 days of PTO (11 days of paid time off, 7 paid holidays, 1 paid flex holiday)
