As a Credit Balance Specialist, you are responsible for facilitating the resolution of insurance and patient credit balances to ensure patient satisfaction and compliance within federal and state regulations. You also perform root cause analysis and trending to identify reoccurring issues generating credits and possess a thorough working knowledge of the Revenue Cycle Management process.  

What You'll Do 

  • Identify, research, and review accounts with credit balances from work queues 
  • Ensure that credit balances are processed in a timely manner 
  • Track, document, and process all provider correspondence 
  • Submit necessary refund or adjustment requests to resolve credit balances from A/R 
  • Escalates problem accounts to management team in a timely manner 
  • Develop and maintain Credit Balance document retention policies 
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives as requested  
  • Monitor all tasks using workflow software and meet the deadlines associated with tasks  
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned 

What You’ll Need 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • 1-2 years of experience in banking, accounting, or finance preferred 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus 
  • Ability to multitask effectively and respond to changing deadlines and priorities  
  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a desktop, laptop, 10-key, and phone  
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel

Your Pay and Benefits 

  • Compensation range of $23.00-$25.00 per hour (based on experience) 
  • Monday through Friday schedule 
  • 19 days of PTO (11 days of paid time off, 7 paid holidays, 1 paid flex holiday)
