You are organized and have an eye for detail. As a Payment Poster, you will post payments for services rendered. You will be responsible for timely and accurate posting of payments from insurance companies via electronic or paper remits while maintaining a high-level of precision and efficiency. You will be an integral part of our Medical Billing team, directly impacting the entire organization, and ensuring payments are posted timely and accurately.

Responsibilities

Role Overview For Payment Poster
  • Accurately post all assigned manual and electronic payments to patient accounts 
  • Analyze payments for accuracy and monitor for issues including underpayments, denials, recoupments, and offsets 
  • Report any payment discrepancy trends 
  • Work zero-dollar Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) as part of payment posting routine 
  • Download remits or EOBs from payer websites to ensure posting accuracy 
  • Assist with month end closing and monitoring files to ensure all receivables are posted timely 
  • Prioritize work to maximize turn-around time 
  • Meet or exceed productivity standards in the completion of daily assignments and accurate production 
  • Ensure EOBs are internally scanned to claim for record-keeping 
  • Call payers for additional information as needed and/or regarding missing checks 
  • Process and post credit card payments 
  • Work on special projects as assigned 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Skills & Qualifications

Profile of an Ideal Candidate For Payment Poster
  • Associate degree or higher accolade preferred 
  • At least one year of medical payment posting experience required
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a desktop, laptop, 10-key, and phone   
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and respond to changing deadlines and priorities 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel 
  • Must be comfortable with daily commute and onsite attendance requirements
